The rough and tumble neighbor to the east of Key West, we’ve earlier written about how much we love Stock Island and why. While it’s still not much of any sort of tourist destination and therefore lacking the number of restaurants of its more well known neighbor, it’s got a couple good places that re worth the trip for those who are adventurous. If you want to see a little bit of what Key West used to be like 20 plus years ago, you go to Stock Island, the restaurants, a good, the people are friendly, and never really crowded, you will get a table, or a seat at the bar and you will enjoy yourself.
Roostica, traditional 900 degree wood fire pizza, this place rocks, the pizza is delicious and the other menu items just as good, the spaghetti and meatballs very homestyle-ish like your mom probably made them.
Hogfish Bar And Grill, true old school Key West, open air, good foo, great fish. A pool table a fun bar where you can mingle with the locals and chat about the days out on the water.
El Mocho is a very local hole in the wall style Cuban restaurant, the Cuban Sandwich is just the way it should be, pork, ham, Cuban bread, in a plastic basket, legit café con leche.
Chico’s Cantina, love dirty Mexican food the way it should be with dripping cheese and beans and sauce, here’s your spot. Don’t get us wrong the whole nuevo Mexican movement is awesome, but sometimes you really just want that tasty burrito, here it is.
Best restaurants on Stock Island not like you have all that many choices anyway, the trip is worth it.
