There’s not a whole lot to say about The Torch Keys, for the most part they are sleepy little islands, tucked between Ramrod and Big Pine Key – around about mile marker 27 to 29. Little Torch has the most frontage on The Overseas Highway and is the most populated, Middle Torch touches the highway and Big Torch is almost completely “off the map” the map so to speak. These keys are a very residential community and there is virtually zero in the way of tourism on the keys themselves. However, they have made their way into our Beaches and Keys guides for one very good reason – Little Torch Key is the gateway to Little Palm Island, one of the very best and most private resorts in The Florida Keys, and perhaps in The United States itself. Little Palm Island is its own resort on its own island. Little Palm Island can only be accessed by boat with arrangements made with the hotel, their meet up and launch spot is 28500 Overseas Highway, Roughly Mile Marker 28, or south on Pirates Road – you’ll see the sign.
