We were going to say on deck, which keeping with a Florida style theme would make sense – lobesterfest, boats, nautical, islands, get it? The Key West Lobsterfest is a little bit more than a week away. This is one of the truly great little food festivals of South Florida and an amazing time to go and visit Key West. Needless to say the whole town comes out to celebrate the lobster season, with the usual Duval Crawls, stands set up all along Duval street serving all sorts of Lobster stuff – if you have never tried batter friend lobster on a stick with a cup of butter, well, a) you need to and b) you need to… even though its the summer, this is one of those weekends where it gets super busy, so making hotel reservations is a must.
If you want to stay right in the thick of it then head straight for old town and and around Mallory Square, if you want to be a little bit more off the beaten path, although having to walk back from stuffing your face then Casa Marina District is good.
