Yes, it’s that time of year again, when we do a look back at what was considered to be the very best of the previous, previous year, reminding us of the fleeting nature of all things popular and fun and expectations set from the year before. If you remember we did the best of for Miami 2013 last Feb and here we are Best of 2014.
Best Restaurant South Beach
1826 Restaurant And Lounge – Danny Grant from Chicgo made his mark on Miami and while maybe a little too glitzy for us, yep it appeals to the tourist set of which there are always more who come back. Not too bad.
Best Restaurant In Wynwood
R House – still held strong and we believe this is going to be a keeper. The decor is rustic hipster, the food is excellent, although if you’re a tourist odds are you are not going to make it out this far. Wynwood, is still the locals neighborhood.
Misha’s Cupcakes – yeah, they are pretty good, and small too, which makes them super easy to eat a lot of more quickly than you should. Easy to pick up at most of the markets in town. Yippie Misha’s.
Wynwood Brewing Company – We fell in love with Wynwood Brewing Co’s beers back in the Octoberfest celebrations of 2014 down in the Grove, The Ritz Carlton in the Grove carries it as their poolside standard.
Best Intimate Dining
Rouge – it’s okay, but I guess in a city that is all about the glitz and the glam and where you are “Scene” people aren’t necessarily looking for a hideaway where they won’t be seen.
What a further trip down memory lane, The Miami New Times has it all.
