Yep, something we’ve all heard about for quite some time, the complete re-development of The Shore Club here on Miami Beach. To be honest, the property way desperately in need of a fixing up, it was starting to look a little shabby and dated. Last week the Historic Preservation Board finally approved the partial demolition of the hotel and the adjoining Cromwell Hotel. The dissenting side, mostly from the Setai condo owners had some pretty legit concerns, if not overblown, claiming that the Shore Club building might collapse and endanger the Setai, unlikely, but wouldn’t that be so Miami if it did? Considering the Setai developers knocked down the old Dempsey – the Real Deal sounds like they were there to listen in on some of the fun commentary.
The new project will be flagged a Fasano property and hotel, 85 suites and 67 condos. We’ll find some nice renderings to post at some point.
Next stop, the Planning Board.
